Burmese cats are considered as one of the most unique breed of cats in the world. They have been around since the 1930’s as a result of cross-breeding a Wong Mau cat breed from Burma and an American Siamese cat. They have a reputation of being exotic and quite placid at times because of their ancestral background, but they were also admired by many pet owners because of their devotion and great characteristic as a cat companion. Litter Training for Burmese Kittens

For the most part, kittens learn to use the litter box from their mothers so you may not have to do any litter training for your Burmese cats at all. You will, however, have to make sure that you teach the kitten the location of the litter box and give him some time to get used to it. When you bring your kitten home, take your kitten to the litter box and place him inside. He may scratch around a little bit or he might jump right out – either is fine. Just keep putting your kitten in the litter box a few times a day for the first few days until he gets used to the location. You should also make sure that it is in a quiet, easy to reach location. If you have more than one Burmese cat, you should also have more than one litter box. The best rule of thumb to follow is one litter box per cat plus one extra. Some cats do not mind sharing litter boxes but others will refuse to use one that another cat has used. Some cats also use one litter box to urinate and another to defecate. Set up your litter boxes in a quiet, private place that is easy to access. If you have a dog in the house you may need to place the box somewhere he can’t get to it – some dogs will eat clumps out of the litter box. See More
